The 14th annual Dave Stockton Coyote Classic charity golf tournament to raise scholarship funds for student-athletes in 11 NCAA-sponsored sports at Cal State San Bernardino is set for Monday, Nov. 9.

 

The university will receive the first-year award of $164,911 for the four-year grant to support the Project Women in Numerus program, or Project WIN.

University receives innovative federal grant to help local middle school math students

The Foundation for California State University, San Bernardino will receive a federal Women's Educational Equity Act grant to improve the mathematics skills of a group of adolescent female students at Bloomington Middle School in Bloomington. The university will receive the first-year award of $164,911 for the four-year grant to support the Project Women in Numerus program, or Project WIN, which is a partnership between CSUSB and the school in the Colton Joint Unified School District.

Beginning Monday: Former NFL stars to host football camp at Cal State San Bernardino

Former stars from the National Football League will converge at Cal State San Bernardino next week when the Athletes for Life Foundation hosts a free football camp for Inland Empire boys and girls ages 10-18. Athletes for Life Foundation's Football Life Skills Camp will open at 8:30 a.m. Monday, July 6, and will run through 3 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at CSUSB.

The CSU chancellor's office is urging the leadership of the California Faculty Association to bring the concept of a two-day per month furlough to a vote of its members. Two other groups, the California State University Employees Union and the Academic Professionals of California, have agreed to discuss furloughs.

For more than five decades, legendary blues artist B.B. King has graced the music scene with unforgettable hits such as "The Thrill Is Gone" and "Three O'Clock Blues." This fall, the Inland Empire will have an opportunity to hear and see him in concert when he performs at Cal State San Bernardino's Coussoulis Arena on Nov. 19. Tickets are on sale now at the arena box office and through Ticketmaster.

Manufacturing index rises for second straight month in inland area

Inland Southern California's factories appear to be continuing a slow climb back toward being one of the region's active economic sectors, a report released Wednesday found. The Purchasing Managers Index for San Bernardino and Riverside counties rose to 51.8 in June from 50.7 the previous month, the Institute of Applied Research at Cal State San Bernardino reported.
