SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - One of the trickiest aspects of starting a new business is learning how to incorporate a new company and what type of business structure works best. Cal State San Bernardino's Inland Empire Women's Business Center will offer a workshop on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6-8 p.m. to help aspiring and existing business owners learn what is necessary to incorporate a business. "Legal Forms of Organization" will be held at the center's office, 202 East Airport Drive, Suite 155, just off Hospitality Lane in San Bernardino. The cost for the workshop is $15 if pre-registered online or $20 at the door. Participants will learn from Gary Foltz, of Gary Foltz Professional Law Corp., about incorporating a business and the legal structure that works best with their company. In addition, attendees will learn the differences between the various types of corporation structures, and the pros and cons of each at tax time. The workshop will also include valuable instruction regarding fictitious business names, issuing stock, the value of business shareholders and signing documents. The Inland Empire Women's Business Center is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The center provides business counseling, training and mentoring designed for and targeted to women business owners. The program provides targeted services to Latina business owners (currently the fastest growing group of women-owned businesses in the country) by providing services in English and Spanish. The Inland Empire Women's Business Center is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only. The center also has a part-time outreach office in Corona.
