SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Anyone who has ever watched crime scene investigation television shows, such as "CSI," "CSI Miami" or "CSI New York" may have wondered if real-life forensics resembled the TV shows. A real-life investigator will give his interpretations of what is real and what is Hollywood fantasy when he speaks at Cal State San Bernardino today, Tuesday, Oct. 20, from noon-1 p.m. Deputy Coroner Investigator David Van Norman will talk about “Myth vs. Reality — Forensic Investigation.” The free lecture will be held in CSUSB’s Pfau Library, room 4005. A homicide/crime-scene investigator in San Bernardino County for 17 years, Van Norman has investigated more than 6,000 deaths and identified 1,000 victims. He also assists the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with its missing-persons cases. For more information, contact Iwona Contreras at (909) 537-3447, or e-mail her at icontrer@csusb.edu. |
