SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Cal State San Bernardino's Inland Empire Women's Business Center has extended the application deadline to today, Friday, Oct. 2, for its entrepreneurial program training series for women. "It's Your Time: An Entrepreneurial Training Series for Women," which consists of workshops, business planning and business counseling, was developed with funding from Citibank and the National Latina Business Women's Association, to encourage women to start their own businesses. The application, which is available at the Inland Empire's Women's Business Center's Web site, iewbc.org, will be accepted until 5 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 2. Participants chosen for the program will attend 10 workshops, write a business plan and work directly with a business counselor in order to complete the program by Jan.12, 2010. Three graduating participants will be selected to receive an award of $750 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place to assist with the launch of their new venture. The Inland Empire Women's Business Center is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The IEWBC provides business counseling, training and mentoring designed for women business owners. The program provides targeted services to Latina business owners, currently the fastest growing group of women-owned businesses in the country, by providing services in English and Spanish. The Inland Empire Women's Business Center's hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only. The center also has a part-time outreach office in Corona, where it meets clients by appointment only on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
