SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The 14th annual Dave Stockton Coyote Classic charity golf tournament to raise scholarship funds for student-athletes in 11 NCAA-sponsored sports at Cal State San Bernardino is set for today, Monday, Nov. 9. The tournament will be played at Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino, the original home of the tournament. Entry fee is $395 per person or $1,400 per foursome. The fee includes a golf clinic by touring professional Dave Stockton, a member of the PGA's Champions Tour and a two-time winner of the PGA Championship, one of the four majors in U.S. golf. Golfers also receive a team (foursome) photo with Stockton, lunch, entry into the closest to the pin and long drive contests for men and women, admission to the awards dinner and participation in the live and silent auction. Registration and a putting contest begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Stockton clinic at 9 a.m. A shotgun start is planned for 10 a.m. with the awards dinner and auction following at 4:30 p.m. Four-person scramble is the format. Sponsorships ranging from $1,500 for a hole-in-one sponsor to $30,000 for a title sponsor are welcome. Golf cart sponsorship is $500 while a driving range sponsor is $500. Tee signs can be purchased for $150 The tournament has raised upwards of $750,000 for scholarships in the first 13 years. The classic committee for 2009 consists of: Nick Coussoulis and Dave Stockton, honorary co-chairs; Bill Collazo and Wayne Austin, co-chairs; committee members Brad Randall, Bev Hornal, Peggy Long, Phyllis Kates, Jan Stephens and U.S. Rep.
