Times Standard – Cal State San Bernardino turned St. Patrick’s Day into a day that the No. 1-ranked Humboldt State softball team would like to forget. Probably in a hurry, too.

For the first time since the regular-season finale in 2015, Humboldt State was on the wrong end of a doubleheader sweep. The best pitching staff in the California Collegiate Athletic Association saw CSUSB explode for a pair of huge innings and rack up 27 hits as Humboldt fell 9-1 in six innings and 8-5 on Friday afternoon.

The opening-game loss snapped the Jacks’ nine-game winning streak.
