The Sun — There may be fewer empty stomachs on the Cal State San Bernardino campus in coming years thanks, in part, to a $1 million endowment from a local philanthropic couple. Chuck Obershaw, former owner of the Toyota dealership in San Bernardino that bears his name, and his wife, Shelby, have been donating to the campus since 1990.
Their newly established endowment, which was announced Wednesday, is targeted to benefit the school’s food pantry — which helps students lacking resources to adequately feed themselves — an educational opportunity program focused on assisting former foster children and the business school’s entrepreneurship program.
