The Sun — James Ramos, former tribal chairman of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, current chairman of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and a Cal State San Bernardino graduate, wrote an opinion column for National Native American Heritage Month.

“The history of our people, the Serrano and Cahuilla, is one of great pride and strength in cultural values, regardless of the situation that surrounded us,” Ramos wrote.
