Inverse — Brian Levin, a professor of criminal justice and director of Cal State San Bernardino’s Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, is featured in a question-and-answer interview with the news website about racism, hate groups, “white nationalism’s sudden ubiquity, the urgent need to bring right-wing conservatives into classrooms, and how America has rapidly regressed.”

“He doesn’t suggest sympathizing with racists, but he does believe that understanding where their ideologies come from is the first step toward dismantling them. One must look directly at the monster to understand its true form,” the article said in its introduction.

The article was published Nov. 28, 2016.
