The Sun— The Diocese of San Bernardino held its first Life, Dignity and Justice Conference Wednesday at the Diocesan Pastoral center, featuring keynote speaker and local college professor Brian Levin, who discussed data from his recently released study “Hate Crime in the United States,” a survey of hate crime data compiled from law enforcement agencies in 20 states.

Among the key findings: Hate crimes against American Muslims increased 78 percent nationwide and 122 percent in California in 2015, the highest since 9-11.
