Covered California’s mission is to increase the number of Californians with health insurance, improve the quality of health care for all Californians, reduce health care coverage costs and make sure California’s diverse population has fair and equal access to quality health care.

Covered California is a health insurance “marketplace” where individuals can shop for and enroll in affordable health care coverage. The marketplace was created by the federal Affordable Care Act, sometimes known as “Obamacare.”

The scheduled sessions last session will take place:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 18, from noon-2 p.m., Pine Room, Lower Commons;
  • Tuesday, March 4, from 2-4 p.m., Eucalyptus Room, Lower Commons; and
  • Thursday, March 13, 4-6 p.m., Pine Room, Lower Commons.

The sessions will include a presentation outline of health insurance options under Covered California under the Affordable Care Act.

That will be followed by time for people to enroll in the program. Enrollment counselors will be available to assist in the process.

To enroll, please bring:

  2. Driver’s license;
  3. Permanent residence card (to verify the alien number) or Certificate of Naturalized Citizenship; and
