The Inland Empire Women’s Business Center at Cal State San Bernardino has recognized 11 female entrepreneurs for successfully completing the CitiBank “It’s Your Time Program: An Entrepreneurial Training Series for Women.”
To complete the program, the participants had to take at least 10 workshops through the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center and write a business plan. The business plans were then scored by a panel of judges, who awarded the writers of the top three plans.
First place winner Helen Williams of Fontana, second place winner Michelle Cammon of Moreno Valley, and third place winner Kaleelah Barnett of Moreno Valley received prize packages cumulatively valued at more than $8,000 to help them start their businesses.
The other awardees are:
- Kimberly Billingsley, Riverside;
- Carolyn Bolton-Kratzer, Ontario;
- Gilda Coleman, Rancho Cucamonga;
- Lynda Molaison, Irvine;
- Heather Munoz, Redlands;
- Marga Preston, Mentone;
- Shawntae Ransom Nelson, Riverside; and
- Zanetta van Putten, Loma Linda.
On awards night, “It’s Your Time” participants shared their experiences and listened to presentations from Ida Hernandez of California Consulting and Victor Ramirez of Citibank.
The women each received a certificate of completion from the center. They were also given proclamations from San Bernardino County Second District Supervisor Janice Rutherford and San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor James Ramos.
Applications for the fall 2013 IYT program are now available at the IEWBC website – or call the IEWBC at (909) 890-1242 – and will be accepted until Friday, Aug. 2 at 5 p.m.
The Inland Empire Women’s Business Center, which is located at 3780 Market St. in Riverside, is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The IEWBC provides business counseling, training and mentoring designed for women business owners.
