A workshop for small business owners on understanding financial statements will be offered on Wednesday, July 24, by the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center, a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino.
“How to Read and Understand Financial Statements” will be from 6-8 p.m. at the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center, 3780 Market St., in Riverside. The cost is $20 per participant. To register, visit the IEWBC website.
The workshop will take the mystery and stress out of dealing with financial information. Taught by a certified public accountant, the workshop will help participants understand different types of financial statements and how they create a picture of how money moves and is tracked through a business. The instructor will also discuss how to evaluate and efficiently manage business finances.
“We find that working with financial information is often quite stressful for new and aspiring business owners,” said Nicole Kinney, IEWBC director. “Taking the time to learn the purpose of each financial statement and how they work together can give owners the confidence as well as the knowledge to better manage their business finances.”
The Inland Empire Women’s Business Center is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The IEWBC provides business counseling, training and mentoring designed for women business owners.
The center’s hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only. For more information, visit the IEWBC website or contact Nicole Kinney at (909) 890-1242.
