In effort to save language, Serrano classes coming to CSUSB

     

The Sun — The city of Yucaipa’s name is derived from a Serrano word. But no one alive knows what that original word means, or perhaps even what it once was.

To prevent further words fading from memory, Cal State San Bernardino, in cooperation with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, will add Serrano language classes to the university’s other language offerings.
