The Desert Sun — In an editorial: “Palm Desert’s University Planning Committee has set in motion plans that should greatly expand higher education in the Coachella Valley.
“It has approved the transfer of 123 acres of vacant land to California State University, San Bernardino to expand the Palm Desert Campus. It would quadruple the size of the existing campus and make room to grow the student population from 1,000 to 2,500. …
“Tomás D. Morales, who took over as president of CSUSB last year, supports this direction. ‘Cal State San Bernardino sees the Palm Desert Campus as a very important part of our university community,’ Morales said in a Desert Sun interview in January.”
The editorial was published April 30, 2013.
