12:25 p.m. update

Cal State San Bernardino is open today, Thursday, May 2, 2013, but university officials continue to monitor wind conditions throughout the area.

As of noon, wind speed readings have shown a consistent decrease from earlier in the day, and the campus will remain open.

University officials continue to monitor wind conditions and will make further determinations about possible campus closures, should that become necessary.

CSUSB officials urge the university community and visitors to stay in buildings, classrooms and offices as much as possible while on campus and to exercise caution when walking outdoors or entering and exiting buildings during heavy wind conditions, and to remain alert for blowing dust and debris.

Any wind-related damage and injuries should be reported to the CSUSB Police Department at (909) 537-5165.
