The Body Shoppe Massage Therapy is offering a special promotion to CSUSB students, faculty and staff today, Thursday, March 14, and next Thursday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the second floor lobby of the Santos Manuel Student Union.

To mark its one-year anniversary, The Body Shoppe Massage Therapy is offering a special promotion to CSUSB students, faculty and staff: $5 off a 15-minute or longer chair massage.

The special promotion, which is provided by Wellness 2U Medical Associates, will be held today, Thursday, March 14, and next Thursday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the second floor lobby of the Santos Manuel Student Union between the Ombuds office and the Pub.

Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. The center takes 15- and 30-minute massage appointments, and 5- or 10-minute walk-in appointments are available when the center’s schedule permits. The massages are $1 a minute. Credit cards, debit cards and cash are accepted.

The benefits of massage are known to reduce stress; lower anxiety; alleviate pain; aid in pain management; alleviate muscle tension and cramping; reduce headaches and migraines; promote deep and restful sleep; improve productivity in the workplace; provide greater flexibility and range of motion; lower blood pressure; enhance athletic performance; increase circulation by promoting faster healing and boosting the immune system; increase attentiveness, focus and learning; and help with depression and more.

The massages are sponsored by the CSUSB Ombuds Services and Gender Equity office, the Osher Adult Re-entry Center, the Student Health and Psychological Counseling Center, Recreational Sports, Human Resources and Wellness 2U Medical Associates.

Clients must be 18 years of age and older and have no health conditions that could be adversely affected by massage.
