The Press-Enterprise — Five of the 11 candidates for a vacant trustee seat on the San Bernardino Community College board have ties to Cal State San Bernardino.
Of the five, four are graduates of CSUSB: John Berletich, Andrea De Leon, Frank Reyes and Gerald L. Smith. The fifth person, Walter Hawkins, is the retired director of research and policy analysis at Cal State San Bernardino.
The seat on the board became vacant when James Ramos, also a CSUSB graduate, was elected to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in November.
