Senior Kwame Alexander has been named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 14-20.
Alexander led the Coyotes to a road sweep over Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay.
The senior from Moreno Valley scored a career-high of 26 points while shooting 9-for-16 from the floor and 8-for-10 from the free throw line against the Pioneers on Friday night.
The following night, he contributed another 20-point effort to power CSUSB over Cal State Monterey Bay, 85-67
Defensively, Alexander totaled 22 rebounds, with a weekend high of 13 in the Coyotes’ 71-59 win over Cal State East Bay.
On the weekend, the forward averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds per game, while snagging three steals.
The honor is Alexander’s second in his career and the first for the Coyotes since Nate Roth on Dec. 29, 2011.
