Dave Stockton Coyote Classic set for Dec. 10


The 17th annual Dave Stockton Coyote Classic charity golf tournament to raise scholarship funds for student-athletes in 10 NCAA-sponsored sports at Cal State San Bernardino is set for Monday, Dec. 10.

Dave Stockton Coyote Classic logoThe tournament will be played at Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino, the original home of the tournament.

Entry fee is $325 per person.

San Bernardino native and one of the sport’s true ambassadors Dave Stockton serves as host of the tournament.  He owns 24 professional tour championships in his career (PGA and Champions Tours combined) and won two majors in his career – the 1970 and 1976 PGA Championship.

Golfers receive a team (foursome) photo with Stockton, brunch-snack and dinner, entry into the closest to the pin and long drive contests, admission to the awards presentation and participation in silent auctions.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a clinic to follow.  A shotgun start is planned for 10:30 a.m. with the awards program and auction afterward. Four-person scramble is the format.

The tournament has raised more than $850,000 for scholarships in its first 16 years.

The classic committee for 2012 is comprised of: Bill Collazo, Wayne Austin, Peggy Long, Eddie Martinez, Eve Clayton, Phyllis Kates, Dorothy Chen-Maynard, Kevin Hatcher and Cliff Dochterman.
