CSU applications hit record high for fourth year

Pasadena Star-News — Thousands more students will be clamoring to attend a California State University campus next year, but admission will likely be tough for many.

For the fourth year in a row, the CSU, which includes Cal State San Bernardino, saw record numbers of applications from new students, highlighting the still-growing demand for the system’s 23 campuses, CSU officials announced Thursday.

According to a graphic with the article, CSUSB had a 7.3 percent increase in freshman applications for fall 2013, while transfer applications for fall 2013 were 37.2 percent more than for fall 2012.

The article, which also appeared in the Long Beach Press-Telegram and other Los Angeles News Group newspapers, was published Dec. 6, 2012.
