Robert H. Christman has been appointed gift and estate planning officer at Cal State San Bernardino’s advancement division. He began his assignment on Nov. 2.
Christman will fill the vacancy left by Cindi Pringle, who was promoted to associate vice president of development last year.
The CSUSB Office of Planned Giving serves those who wish to include Cal State San Bernardino in their wills and estate planning.
Christman, who has an extensive background in the financial industry in both the public and private sector, most recently served as associate vice president and financial adviser at Morgan Stanley in Redlands for 13 years. He also is former mayor and councilman for the city of Loma Linda and former president of San Bernardino Associated Governments.
He has also been a business entrepreneur, has taught business courses as adjunct faculty at Crafton Hills College and Loma Linda University School of Business, holds several financial securities licenses and has been a real estate broker. He currently serves as president of the board for the San Bernardino County Museum.
In addition, Christman is a licensed commercial pilot who has transported LIGA Internacional’s Flying Doctors of Mercy volunteers along with medical supplies to poor communities in Mexico, assisting with translation services. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese after residing in South America for 13 years.
The Loma Linda resident has a master’s of business administration from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, La., and a juris doctorate from Southland University in Los Angeles.
