Editorial: Two strong picks for community colleges, CSU

     

The Sacramento Bee — In an editorial about the hirings of the chancellor of the California Sacramento BeeState University and the chancellor of the California Community Colleges, the newspaper wrote: “Leaders of California’s community college and state university systems have appointed two highly accomplished leaders, who face daunting challenges as they set about reshaping these vital institutions but seem up to the task.”

Both Timothy P. White, appointed CSU chancellor on Oct. 4, and Brice Harris, appointed the community college system in Sept. 27, face stiff budget challenges as state support dwindles for public higher education.
