Inland Valley Daily Bulletin — In a weekly college sports roundup: “The Cal State San Bernardino volleyball team entered the season with six consecutive CCAA titles and nine in the last 10 years. With the Coyotes having graduated seven players, this was supposed to be the season other teams had a chance.
“But with one week left in the first round of conference play the Coyotes (10-6, 7-1) are at the top of the heap.”
Also in volleyball, senior setter Camille Smith was named CCAA women’s volleyball player of the week for her showing in games last week.
In men’s soccer, Cal State San Bernardino faces a big week with matches looming against Cal State Los Angeles (8-3-1, 7-2-1) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (6-5-1, 4-1-4), both of whom are ahead of them in the CCAA South Division standings.
