The Sun — Item No. 2 in the weekly college sports roundup: “The Cal State San Bernardino men’s basketball team started practice on Monday. The top returning player is senior forward Kwame Alexander, whose dunking exploits last season earned him national attention.”

Item No. 4: “The Cal State San Bernardino women’s cross country team will compete in Saturday’s CCAA championships at UC San Diego. It will be the third time the Coyotes have run that course.

“Coach Tom Burleson’s squad ran the 6,000-meter course a week ago at the Triton Invitational and placed a respectable 10th out of 21 teams.”
