The Press-Enterprise – Work to bring Metrolink commuter trains to downtown San Bernardino will start next year, officials predict. The $75 million project is a one-mile addition of track that runs from the Santa Fe Depot on Third Street to a planned transit center at the corner of Rialto Avenue and E Street.
The extension of Metrolink is one of three major transit projects planned in the San Bernardino Valley in the next three years. Work is ongoing on the $192 million sbX bus rapid transit project from Cal State San Bernardino to Loma Linda. The bus project also uses the Rialto and E Street location as a stop.
