Junior Misty Vu reached the highest individual honor a collegiate athlete can receive as she was named a first-team All-American by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, the organization announced earlier this summer.
Vu led the nation in goals with 120 and tied the school record for the Coyotes. She shares the record set by Kaitlin Hartman in 2009. Vu has scored 247 goals in her career and needs 110 tallies in her final year to become the all-time career goal scorer. Three-time All-American Freyja Berg owns the record with 356 set in 2005-08.
She is the 62nd individual All-American in school history and is the eighth competitor in her sport to be so honored.
Vu also finished third in the nation in steals (72) and seventh in assists (44).
