San Bernardino is rich in the ways that count

     

The Sun — In an opinion column about the city of San Bernardino’s decision to file for bankruptcy protection because of financial troubles, Hillel Cohn, rabbi The Sun (San Bernardino County)emeritus for Congregation Emanu El in San Bernardino and Redlands, reminded readers that institutions such as Cal State San Bernardino and other groups and programs ensured that the city was not bankrupt as a community.

“No,” Cohen wrote, “we are not bankrupt if bankruptcy means that we are lacking in qualities and values that are in abundance here.”
