ESAT Radio (Ethiopia) — Cal State San Bernardino political science professor Alemayehu G. Mariam is interviewed about the death of Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.
Zenawi died from an undisclosed illness in a Belgian hospital on Aug. 20. Mariam, who also is the senior editor of the International Journal of Ethiopian Studies, has been critical of Zenawi’s government, which, while credited for improving the nation’s economy, also has been accused of human rights violations.
