Cal State San Bernardino President Al Karnig made a difference


Inland Valley Daily Bulletin — In an editorial: “It’s with gratitude that we congratulate Cal State San dailybulletinBernardino President Al Karnig and wish him well in his retirement.

Karnig, who retired after 15 years as university president, celebrated Thursday with students, faculty and staff who organized a parade in his honor.

“The day was bittersweet for Karnig, the university’s third president, who’s committed himself to expanding educational opportunities for residents in San Bernardino and the surrounding area.

“‘For 15 years, I worked in this office and it’s been a good place, where you could really make a difference,’ he told our reporter Thursday.”

The editorial was published Aug. 5, 2012, and also appeared in The Sun.
