Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus has awarded scholarships to four of its nursing students for the 2011-2012 academic year with funds donated by the Palm Desert-Indian Wells Women’s Club.

CSUSB's Palm Desert Campus has awarded scholarships to four of its nursing students with funds donated by the Palm Desert-Indian Wells Women’s Club.
Simona Campa of Rancho Mirage, Jennifer Jolene Cox of Desert Hot Springs, Twilla Oskey of La Quinta and Caren Vanderpool of Rancho Mirage will each receive a scholarship of over $1,000 to support their studies at the campus.
“I am honored to be one of the recipients of the Palm Desert-Indian Wells Women’s Club scholarship,” said Oskey. “I have just completed my first year of the nursing program at CSUSB Palm Desert Campus and can already report that my academics are off to a first-rate start. My plan at this stage is to earn my BSN. The Palm Desert Campus offers one of the finest nursing programs in the country and I consider myself fortunate to be able to attend.”
The Palm Desert-Indian Wells Woman’s Club is a social and philanthropic group of women who reside in the Coachella Valley. One of their goals is to support nursing students at College of the Desert and the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus by having on-going fundraising events throughout the year. They have been supporting nursing students at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus since 2006.
The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus offers two nursing programs – a three-year bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN) and a two-year RN to BSN program for current California-licensed registered nurses wishing to obtain a BSN.
